Following on from my thread of :-

http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f8/standard-height-suspension-replacement-help-ideas-189634.html

I went down the route of:-

Bearmach Heavy Duty Blue Springs - BA 2103 - rear with 20mm lift
Bearmach Heavy Duty Blue Springs - BA 2104 - front with 30mm lift

Giving me around a 1 inch lift, which is serving me well – although I have only done a couple of thousand miles on them, if that!

Now I have the modulars and flexi arches, thinking about increasing to a 2 inch lift. Consensus after searching seems to say that I am ok to fit 2” springs on the standard shocks and not need to do any other modification.

However, just asking for opinions from other folk that have done this, is there any additional mods that are worthwhile to reduce stress on other parts with the extra height?

I am not an 'extreme' off road guy, so articulation etc is not a main worry, just the extra height for, dare I say it, looks , as well of course practicality of the wheels having more room etc….

I would be looking at getting the Bearmach Heavy Duty Blue Springs again, but with the 50mm lift.

Cheers

Drop shocks and turrets ? Might be worth looking at ,
If your going to replace the springs why not just do the shocks aswell not +5s or anything like that but you can get +2s for cheap
And if there the original shocks there proberly worn and old so the added stress might cause them to be worse off ect
For the £150-200 i recon its worth doing the shocks aswell

As above, I wish I had done my shocks when I done the 2 inch HD springs. It saves a lot of hassle. I haven't done amy castor correction for it, just been putting up with the sharper steering. My rear oem trailing arm bushes have suffurred though so will be getting some poly ones very soon as all other bushes are now poly aswell.

A lot of people use castor corrected radius and trailing arms which puts the geometry back again but then causes more obtuse angels in the prop so double cardon prop needed. I would prefer tackling the issue rather than fix a problem to get another if you know what I mean. So wanted to get castor corrected swivels which have their bolt holes rotated abiut about 5 degrees or so then everything else remains as is job done, however, they apparently dont make them any more so would need to have one machined. Or, just put up with more fidgety steering.
