Hello,

This is general really,

My dad has a series one and it has cyprian plates, long story short for his birthday I am doing a scrap book of the restoration for him and I was going to restore the licence plate for the book.

My question is what are the original colours for the licence plate? (I heard black and silver)

How would I go about restoring it? (So far I have paint stripped the old plate as it had lots of rust so couldn't see the original colours)

Many thanks

I wouldn't bother restoring it, give it a wipe down to remove most of the bad rust then lacquer it.......series ones look nicer when they have some wear I think

But seeing as you've already destroyed the original paint on it it should be gloss black with raised satin silver letters

Just to clarify this plate will not be going back on the series at all due to it being cyprian plate, the original plate was knackered up due to sand damage, rust and burn damage. So the original paint was almost non existent.
Thank you where would you recommend getting the paints from.

Thank you very much, the plate looked bad when it came as it was a military series and it has bullet holes in it.

Thank you for your help.

These are military ones I have in work
