Hello Land Rover gurus!

In great need of your wisdom and advice. Recently my girlfriends Dad unexpectedly passed away, as part of his estate which she controls there is an old Land Rover which she wishes to sell to help pay for a renovation loan on the house that her ailing mother has been left with.

Based on some online research...I believe that the rover is a Series II pickup truck styled rover in the area of about 1964, but I'm not sure, I'm looking for a bit of help in that area.

Also, I'm wondering what a reasonable asking price would be for such a vehicle...I know what she'd like to get out of it but want to make sure that it's a legitimate ask before presenting it to buyers.

Wondering what wonderful knowledge you can impart on me to help her get what she needs out of this vehicle...it's hard for her to part with and she needs to maximize what she gets.

Below find the current ad with what I know about it and pictures that I took a week ago.

Thanks for all your help.

Jason

What year/series is this? (and any other info)
What is a good asking price?
Is there a better place to list this vehicle?

:)

No idea, but why not ask where it's relevant, like Canada? Prices here, which we know about, will bear little to no relation to overseas.

Frankly, it looks straight-ish but without seeing the chassis and engine properly etc it could be a right basket case worth £3 on a good day ... you don't say if the engine runs, whether the vehicle is towable or needs a trailer ... too many variables to make an informed estimate .. especially for an overseas vehicle.

Engine does not run, or hasn't in years. Chassis is apparently sound according to her, and it would likely need to be hauled.

+1 could only be scrap value about $250-300

looks like it, I think.

What's the extra gauge next to the steering wheel? has someone added a voltmeter/oil temp/pressure gauge or tried to add a turbo?

Actually it looks quite good to use as a base for restoration, but again, how many Canadians will do that for a Brit Landrover?

Try your local ebay ads for FINISHED auctions .. on-going auctions are what people think they're worth, NOT what they necessarily sell for!!

Oncd you have a bit more info about its condition you could try posting your enquiry in a forum such as this, who may have more local knowledge.

Think it looks OK. The rear cross member seems sound and that is usually the first part of the chassis to go. From what can be seen of the bulkhead, there are no apparent problems. Door panel gaps look excellent. It would definitely fetch more money in US.
