MOT Failure, Steering advice needed

Ok, heres whats happening..The MOT station are welding the U bolts. I will driv eit home - 3 miles. Then I will refit some custom U Bolts that have not been welded. It will run standard steering control arms and I will shim the rear axle to correct the ride height. This will improve the castor as well :)

Its was a quality weld by the way, did 8000 miles on it, not that that counts for anything. I reckon he gassed it, too neat for Mig!

Good man dave, best way to do it, if it were gas then there is fookall penetration but loads of heat, and no fookin use. If you ever have to weld something like that which requires stress then stick welder wif lo-hydrogen rods, need a decent welder though, most home ones wont burn them.

I worked in a truck workshop and a good mig will weld about any metal to be honest, but quality requires a good stick wif the lo.hi's.
