so I've got new cylinders and Mintex shoes up front.
removed all 4 drums and rubbed down/degreased.

Bled everything nicely,

I inly get 54/100 on my mot.

it's a pass but barely-what you ole boys getting on your brake test in the mot?

If it's all super new it'll take some mileage to get them bedded in right, the linings are probably only touching the drums in a couple of high spots virtually.

You will find if it is set up correctly that by next year all will be good. Things do take ages to bed in and work well, also so much engine braking the brakes are not used that much.
My series 3 diesel stops well with 11" drums up front and electric vacuum pump shows 70% + on the testers Tapley. Will not get much better than that.

lol the tester said " corr these brakes are a tad awful mate"

i got less than that a year ago  40 something.. maybe 5 or 8.. i have a power assisted servo but someone switched the engine and just stuck a bolt in the end.

fixed it with a leccy pump now though :)
