Further to my post the other day, we had a go - but the welder my mate had wasn't much use.
Turns out the guy he got it off said it was playing up....
So, anyone got any recommendations for a mobile welder in Stockport area? I'll have the old cross member off and the area cleaned and prepped, so would just be welding the new one on - then i'll put the wiring loom back in, exhaust back on etc etc.
