A while ago I designed and developed a device for doing stop action photography "http://www.wexphotographic.com/buy-photo-triggers-starter-kit/p1532299". Now I've been looking at larger tyres for the Landrover and realise that my nice TD5 electronic dashboard will be inaccurate.....

So I've designed a nice little circuit that will compensate for the different wheel size and will have 6 connections which will be ground, 12v, sensor in and sensor out plus two other ones which will be for programming etc and not normally used. The cost of the circuit is likely to be about £25 and would be pre-programmed to the stepping of the customer with a table as to the correct stepping. The standard stepping is 4200 per mile and I can make it do whatever you want. By basically re-programming the device in the picture above and adding a very small interface box and leads I can turn that device into a battery powered simulator and programmer so that you could plug it in and it will simulate your stepping to show the speed and distance and allow you to measure a standard mile and show the stepping which will effectively allow you to re-program your own devices (which if you buy them trade would work out cheaper) oh and it would also allow you to increase the mileage of a clock to match the correct mileage at about 1000mph!! (It would not allow you to reduce it). I could, for no extra cost, add a link allowing 2 steppings per device so you could have a standard and off road set of tyres.

What do people think? I know that there are devices of a similar nature but they seem rather more expensive due to having programming etc built in when most people will simply buy larger wheels plug the device in once and forget about it.

This is just to see if anyone else thinks this is a good idea. If not I'll just do it for myself :)

Yes, that sounds interesting, and at a very competitive price too. At present, my speedo seems to be a little optimistic, so it would be good to have some way of calibrating it.
