Series 3 making a hole in the door

i bought two new locks. when I installed them I saw the right door had no hole for the lock.

so I used this tool to make one

now it looks like this

Looks interesting. Do you need access to both ends when tightening it?

You need about 2 centimeters on the backside. But you do not need further access. On the first pic you see the 3 sharp points. They dig into the metal. With a spanner only on the front you force out the plate metal.
