Major problems 2 hours after buying series 3 :/

Well, sorted the brake problem. front Offside wheel cylinders were ****ing out brake fluid at some rate, and the drum was pretty much soaked in the stuff. Changed all the parts (never as easy as the job should be of course!!). However the clattering noise is still there. Its weird, its not there every time I drive it, but when it is there it doesnt come and go, and I really struggle to pinpoint where its from. Just wondering, is it possible that it will make some sort of noise if the diffs are low/devoid of oil?

I'd expect more of a whine from a dry diff - or a clunk as it seizes solid! Front prop UJs might be the next place to look.

OK...describe the clattering noise a bit more...is it still, as described, as this:

1. There is an awful, loud knocking noise on the front nearside (left) wheel (thats where it sounds like anyway), it is there in both low/high range, at pretty much all speeds, and gets a quicker beat the faster you go....it also gets really fast knocking when....
2. Braking.

Or has it changed since then? Does it do it in neutral? Have you checked for play in the hub, joints, etc? You havnt got a FWH half engaged or something odd but obvious like that? I assume you have checked all oils/grease.

yer brakes are the only thing keepin yer from the undertaker , after a near miss me self , iv always done series brakes to the highest spec

sounds like e gray and i have similar probs. i drove ours home from whitstable in kent to ashford with no brakes apart from the transmission brake. Got a britpart master cyl on the braking but cant get the system bled. i think i would be correct in saying that the cyl has had it. Also got water in the engine oil and the front prop has a nackered U J.
