Can anybody HELP my 1984 90 with the origional n/a diesel engine and LT 77 gearbox which has covered 190,000 miles with out any warning decided not to allow me to select reverse gear. some times by really wrenching the gear stick to the left you can select 1/2 a gear but graunches when trying to pull away. all other 5 gears select smoothly and no noise when driving & oil levels are all spot on and clean. I have checked the top spring and the top gear stick ball for corrosion and movement all ok but the gear stick does not seem to across as far as it should. any ideas would be brill.
