I have renewed my extended LR warranty since my 2016 manufacturers warranty on my 3.0l sdv6 ended mainly because of the snapped crank issue.
Does the warranty cover this issue or am I waiting my money?

Ask your insurers (the extended warranty is just a form of insurance) I'm sure I've heard of LR extended warranty (as in, bought from & provided by LR insurers, not third party mechanical warranty providers) paying of replacement engines - BUT, you will have to agree to covering the cost of investigation of the cause of failure initially, even if subsequently covered by insurance.

Mine is LR extended but I’am being told that because cranks are “an existing fault” that it’s excluded an I was wondering if this is correct or just internet trolling by anti Landrover keyboard warriors?

Surely it's not an "existing fault" until it happens ? If they were part of an LR recall, then sure the insurance company would say it's LR's problem. Gotta read the small print & buyer beware.

It will cover major mechanical like crank snapping. As long as its serviced to lr spec at the correct interval or mileage, at a lr franchised main dealer, then it should be covered. Pop into yer lr main dealer and chat to the service peeps. They will have dealt with warranty claims previously under extended warranty.

Someone on ere will pop up saying you can service it yourself or at a non lr franchised garage. You can but you may have to prove work done on the vehicle was done correctlty with the correct parts/liquids if requested when making a claim. That may not be easy.

Iirc some time back the 2nd hand vehicle LR warranty (which was actually 3rd party job) did not cover crank failure as known fault, but have read since that, that has changed, but only way to find out is to ask them.
