Hi
I am looking to buy an MPi 2.0l 1994 to 1998 Discovery. Has anyone got any experiance with a discovery running on LPG? I would like to know if there are things to avoid or to look for. What sort of MPG do you get from a converted one.
I might also buy one and have it converted myself if i cant find one already done, has anyone had it done? where is the best place and what sort of cost would i be looking at?

Thanks
Rob

ffs buy a doozel - Mpi's are ****.

Fair enough...
What is wrong with the MPi in particular? i have had a diesel Freelander which i have found quite noisy and prefer to drive a petrol vehicle, so am looking to go back to a petrol. I'm a bit out of touch with whats good and what is not so good as my last petrol Landy was a Series IIa.

Hi,I've been running a 94 3.9 disco on lpg for about 4 years now, been great, works out cheaper to run than the 2.0 cavalier it replaced, get a multipoint injection type of lpg system if you can as they are supposed to be a lot better, but mine is the single o ring type that runs a bit like a carb, but very effective, lovely noise and power of a v8 and good economy too, hope this helps, regards,Mark

Hi Mark

Thanks for the info, do you know roughly what MPG you get urbon and on a run with the LPG.

Cheers

Hi again, most of my driving is around town, and usually on lpg,i normally get around the 120mile mark to about 50 litres of lpg, usually 12/14mpg on petrol,(i tend to have a heavy right foot),its the noise of the v8 that does it,so i imagine with the cost of lpg being around half that of petrol, then i must be getting the equivelant of 25/30mpg
I recently did a 100mile run and it cost me £10 worth of lpg at the cost of 42p/litre,hope this helps, regards,Mark
