Low range 1st, 2nd issues?

Hi,

Strange, in first & second in low range it feels like its restricted to 2,000 rpm until 3,4,5 then revs right through?

Whilst in High range this it's fine.

Don't understand.

Which model / year of Disco?

Do you have a tacho? (rev-counter)

What does it tell you?

something like
1st 1500rpm
2nd 1500rpm,

then all is fine......

also i have this trouble in low range reverse! donn't inderstand as everything is fine in high range! it will rev past 1500rpm but no drive!

anyone got any ideas?????

Does it do this when moving and standing still? ie if you're stood in first or second low with clutch pushed in does it still do it, or is it only when moving?

Seems a strange one, mine revs out in every gear in lowbox and will in high box in fifth if given a long enough downhill and a run at it ...

it will rev past 1500rpm but you lose drive! like the clutch is slipping....

In 1st and 2nd low increasing revs hardly increases speed ... try it up a longish, steepish hill so there's plenty load on the vehicle and see if it loses drive then. Don't forget that in low box even 5th gear won't go much past about 30. (I'm guessing at thirty 'cos if I'm going that speed I won't be in low ... )
