low brake fuid message ? p38

hi
the center message in my p38 displayed :" low brake fuid " is that means that the brake system is gone ?
what kind of brake fluid shall i use for my p38 - 1996- hse ?
what color is it ?

you may have a leak somewhere. have a good look round.
it's DOT4 fluid that you need.

don't you think that the dead pads could cause this problem too ?

Might even be as simple as yer pads are worn right down, as they wear the pistons in the calipers move out thus taking more fluid with them, top it up then when yer change the pads and you push the pistons back in the fluid runs out the resovoir, and fooks yer paintwork, specially so if yer dunt take the cap of.

You can always wash it of with water but most dont know until the paint goes.

If no leaks and pads are not quite fooked just top up enough to get the light off.

the light didn't come on anymore !
till last week ..
that's strange ..
the pads still in good condition , despite they're squeaking somtimes
