Lost of drive

2006 defender td5 suddenly lost drive on yard.Lift the handbrake up and she drives.Will only drive with handbrake on

If you engage difflock, do you have drive too?

Broken rear half shaft .?

Yeah, sounds like youve broken a propshaft, diff, halfshaft or CV.

If some one looks underneath (CAREFULLY!), while the foot brake is applied and looks at the two propshafts, while trying to drive, you'll be able to see if the problem is front, or rear. One shaft is probably turning, but not driving anything.

If it moves with handbrake on, surely it’s a rear shaft
