Hi again.

Whilst searching for water leak removed the plastic top of engine, behind on the crank case is a round plastic cover that is loose and is barely staying in place when removed you can see the timing chain. should this not be tight in there and sealed? I appear to have been loosing a lot of oil from it.

Many thanks

Andy

Is it the td5 engine your talking about? It sounds to me like you mean the camshaft seal. is it on the cylinder head behind some wires and its a round piece of plastic with a o-ring. if it is thid then these are just a push fit into the head and the o-rings perish over time/heat cycles etc. ive just replaced mine it was about £15 from main dealer

No problem. i used a bit of silicone gasket to stick mine in while i waited for the new one to arrive and it worked fine. the part number for mine was LDI100030
