We have had both Disco 1 and 2 over the years as family cars, but I am thinking of a 110 station wagon.
Is the load space similar?
Three kids, two dogs and all the associated clutter soon fill a car!

My main concern for children is the lack of inertia belts in the back-child seats, you know how it is if you are a parent.

Do owners fit different rear seats with built in belts, like the Disco 2 for instance.

I know the Defender is a late Forties bodyshell, that doesn't bother us.

Thanks,
Jim.

It depends if you plan to actually use the rearmost seats in the 110. In my opinion, the newer forward-facing seats are not a good design. To get in and out of the back, you have to fold up the seat for access, which doesn't seem very safe to me in an emergency, and particularly when there's kids involved. If they were rear-facing they'd be better. The older side-facing seats are better ergonomically, but you can't use these with child seats (if your kids are of that age) and theoretically not quite as good as a forward or rear-facing seat.

If the kids are happy to go 3-up in the 2nd row, I'd be tempted to remove the load area seats completely. and make it a 5-seater. There's plenty of space back there with no seats installed, and I'm sure the dogs will be happy to ride in the back :)

Thanks, that makes sense.

rear facing seats...

thats brave, i dont fancy cleaning up the sick afterwards!

as for "If the kids are happy to go 3-up in the 2nd row" .... dont kids do as they are told anymore? I was 3 up in the back of a lada when i was a kid and I was thankfull that we had a car.

tsk the youth of today.

thats only for a few seconds though.

Volvo V70's has seats in the boot facing backwards. When was the last time you saw a happy child in one of those?!
