My front diff is on the way out on my puma so i have an old diff from a td5
So whilst that will be sent to be rebuilt should i fit a lsd to it or just peg the diff for strength. The defender does most of its life towing very heavy trailers up hills or across muddy fields
 
My opinion would be to go for the strength and peg it. My thought is that fitting an LSD might be a little too expensive for what you get back from it.

A mate has a locking rear diff and fitted a 'quality name' LSD in the front .. the rear works when he wants it to .. the front works when it wants to, which don't often tally with what he wants the vehicle to do!

Band for bucks diff pegging is a very good option and what I'll do when I get the pennies! You could peg both ends for the price of an LSD.

Been thinking of a crosspin in the centre and a peg as its blown the rear diff with the pin snapped
