hi everyone
my problem is my 300dti is i am on my second lift pump in as many years do,s anyone know or had the same problem ? the first one was a ****part but the second was a dalphi, and can i retro fit a electric one to do away with the manual one and if so what type

Dont know about the electric thing but it sounds like a good idea, did that before with a V8 petrol to boost the mechanical pump. The 300 is known for its weak lift pump, thats why they are so cheap and available.I dont really know what Im talking about here but Id say that an extra pump in line as long as you were extra super sure that it was airtight could only be a good thing.....might try it myself!

If you want to fit an electric pump you need a small pump that can simply supply quite a lot of fuel constantly, there are no real requirements for pressure (other than enough to get the pressure up to the pump and indeed back to the tank) as the Bosch injection pump relys on a continual flow of diesel through it for cooling and lubrication.

I personally would just keep a spare lift pump at hand all the time and make sure the next one you get it a good quality part.
