Just spoke to the Missus and she's going to come pick me up from work at Devizes and we're planning to do a little lane from Devizes to Potterne, then take the A360 south towards Market Lavington / West Lavington.
From around here we have a route two routes; one for if the flags are not up, and a different if they are up.

Anyone fancy it? I'll be checking this until about 17:00, send me a PM or gimme a call

Nowt daft, some of it I've not done so will be checking out for the first time although I've heard it's fine, there is a bit around Charlton which is a nice incline and a decline, I have waffle boards and a Tirfor. I got up it with a bit of wellie in the Disco last time without needing assistance so should be fine now it's not muddy, just take it easy with the hard ground and should be cool

:)

Well, had a good drive and have enough for a days laning now with not too much tarmac'd road in the middle

The missus did pretty much all the driving on this one

Here she is playing in what little mud there is left

Then I decided to jump on the back and video it over the roof whilst holding onto the ladder and spare wheel.. Unfortunatley though here is a good demonstration of why communication is the key in everything you do.... Or in this case, what happens when you do not have any!!

Nice one mate!!

that descent is pretty good... were you there with us when we went down that?
not far from that one there is a hill that is pretty good too..
the lane starts on the A342 in Carlton St Peter, just across from a pub and goes uphill... it's brilliant.

the first video, can you send me a mail with the location for that??
been there like 4 times now and still don't know how to get there!! hahahaa

Yeah, it was with you and the *cough* Surfs *cough*,

Find Devizes on a map, go south East on the A432 until you get to Charlton St Peter, where the road from Charlton St Peter hits the A432 look left a little bit and that's the pub. (Marked 'B' below)

Or if you have OS map it is on map 130 Salisbury and Stonehenge
Ref: SU 114 558

Hope that helps

lol i hope you left that mud behind that was on your feet, looks like you found the only bit left in Wiltshire!!!

Nah, bit by bit I'm bringing it back home to Old Sodbury and I'm going to re-create a 1:1 scale replica of the plains so I don't have to drive so bloody far to get to them

; )

stretchie mate.... wtf??

what are you pointing out on the map? the same pub that i described on my previous post where we went up hill through the trees? lol what you on about? hahahaha

what I want to know is where is that wide bit with tracks and mud on your first videos, same place where Laurence got Jons Surf stuck? remember...?

DOH, sorry JP.. That was a classic case of not reading the thread properly. I thought you meant you didn't know where the pub was...

Anyway, here is a snippet from the OS map SU 015 444

The red arrows show some of the mud holes

Map-1.jpg

The one you are talking about is the lower two of the arrows on the left hand side and you might want to take note of the lower two on the right hand side. The lower of these was where Lawrence had problems with the Disco cutting out exiting the water hole and the upper of those is where yours FINALLY got stuck
