Larger spanner sizes

Those ratchet ring spanners are good for situations where there isn't room to get a full sized socket on, but things are a bit too stiff to use your fingers. For example getting the swivel balls off the front axle, or the nut that holds the gear lever on. Obviously, I wouldn't trust them with my full weight, but they're handy for things like that where you've already got the item moving with something a bit stronger.

I agree with this. I have just done both my swivels and they were really helpful doing that job. However, after watching Britannica Mike's video for the swivels, I was cautious about the flipping of the spanner to reverse the direction as if you undo a screw too much the head is too near the swivel ball to take the spanner off but you can't screw it back in as you can't reverse the direction.

I have both the fixed and flexible ratchet spanners. I find the fixed ones more useful as it's a bit too easy to push the spanner over the head of the bolt with the flex ones - then it's a pain to get it back onto the head.

I went into Aldi to have a look at the large spanners, but they are online only. I don't want to buy the full set without seeing them first. I may well just buy a single 30mm one.

Well, as I couldn't view the Aldi spanner set, and the fact that all the other large size fixings on the 90 were suitable for a socket, I decided to buy a single combi spanner in 30mm. I thought it a bit daft to buy a single no-name spanner as I wouldn't know just how good a fit it would be, and also the fact that this is likely to be persuaded to move with a hammer, so I have ordered myself a Teng version. Hopefully this will have a good fit and take some "hammer "!

When Homebase were going through another rebrand/ change of owner they were clearing out their KinChrome spannerage - bought several big spanner’s for attacking the rear suspension on my 110 plus some ratchets spanner’s in handy sizes. Cheap as chips and have had lots of abuse - unmarked so far!

No idea if they are rated but appear good quality and very shiny - Make a convincing noise when thrown in anger as well…..

That's the time to buy gear!

Well I got the 30mm Teng today. It is very similar in size to the snap-on but just a tiny bit more slack on the nut.
