Landrover Specialist in Sheffield

Hi There,

After recently acquiring my RR Vogue 2002 LPG conversion my next step is to get a full health check on it. A few things i know need to be addressed are :
1) Brake Accumulator
2) Poss new radiator - from what i can see it's the original - 10 years of crud are bound to be sat in there (also noticed a small little coolant drip from the bottom of the radiator at the weekend.
3) Poss new airbags - will check these myself (whats the best method to check - iv'e been told spraying with washing up liquid mixed with water & looking for bubbles)? If they need replacing i'm thinking of Arnotts (can get these on Ebay for less than £300 set of 4).
I'm not that confident in doing all this myself & was looking for reccomendations of a good Landrover specialist / independent in the Sheffield area. I've found WGB Autos but cant find any reviews about them. Basically i want the best for my rangie but don't want to get ripped off in the process. Any help / suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You could try Doug Dransfield in Stocksbridge, he has been in business a long time and people seem to trust him.

I've never had any work done by him myself but I do buy spares from time to time and his prices are OK.

I did come across Doug when out looking for my Landy. I test drove a Disco TD5 he had for sale but it was a complete dog so it put me off a little (gearbox & brakes shot). I guess he's been in the business long enough so must be decent though?

Don't expect smiles and dealership customer service. Never had work done so I wouldn't steer u away I just know hes miserable from visiting twice in search of a defender.

Only ever bought spares from Doug he seemed alright though

Shaws in park gate Rotherham seem ok, been there for advice, very helpful, would have paid for work done but I wanted a professional tweak of the 300tdi pump and he advised against.

PS, anyone fitted a brake accumulator...might try this one myself????
