:)The 2.5 has a little more oomph than the 2.25 81bhp if I recall. Nice smooth engine with 5 main bearings so a bit tougher.
2.5 fits onto the existing series III mounts (assuming it's not a V8 chassis) and gearbox although I think the studs might need changing. You'll need to make an exhaust to match the 2.5 manifolds and carbs. The standard 2.25 manifolds and carb will also fit and will work, but you'll need to rig a cable throttle linkage. And the smaller 2.25 carb may strangle the 2.5 engine a little so you won't get the benefit of the extra 0.25L.:D

I think it’s very similar block to the 2.25 , it should mate to gbox, I’ve put a 2.5 tdi in mine but without turbo , same engine mounts, saying that most peeps now go for originality and would keep the 2.25
The 200di for me starts 1st turn , no smoke or oil leaks
the 2.5 will give a bit more power (9hp )

Thanks Just trying to weigh up the cheapest option, Rebuilders quoted between 12 to 1600 depending on what it needs doing, but then I will need to buy carb , alternator , fuel pump ect, this one has everything on so might be the cheaper option .
So not sure weather to make an offer or not.
