Hi, Firstly I am new here
and need a bit of help with insurance.
Basically I have just sold my old 1981 petrol ex MOD and replaced it with a 1972 tax exempt diesel, reason being I only use it on Sundays for shooting so paying £200 a year in tax just to sit on the drive to be used once a week seemed pointless, anyway the one I have bought I have now found out has got a 3300cc Perkins engine fitted and when I called up to insure it I got quite a shock! its classed as a modified vehicle so everyone wants to stick £300 straight on top of the premium (I was paying £112) for the old MOD one.
So does anyone know anywhere who insures these land rovers as I have seen so many of them with this engine fitted and would not class it as being modified!
Any help or info would be very much appreciated.
