Hi Chaps, Everyone mentions about off road clubs in southern Spain. I have found many people in the same situation. It seems to me that at some point we should all get together and maybe start a club? We all have a little knowledge of certain areas, we all want 'weekends away' and if we pull our knowledge and contacts then I'm sure things will grow from it. I know Spaniards/Gibraltarian who would probably join as well which is handy if your Spanish is anything as good as mine.....Im in Gibraltar, I've seen other posters from Algeciras and Marbella so why don't we all get together for a meet? personal email [email protected]. Regards, Mark

Hola buenus dias.

I have lived here in Spain now for 7 years and own two Land Rovers both left hand drive and diesel.

My experience has been to purchase the vehicles in the UK and to drive them to Spain then take them to the local ITV centre and have them matrixculised to Spanish regulations. Once this is done then take the documents to the local police station and have the vehicle reistered and taxed in Spain according to the spanish law. If you find this a difficult process then ask your solicitor to do it for you or find some one that knows the process, the cost can be expensive or the reverse sunbject to their costings shop around a little .

As to where I live it is a small village by the name La Escarihuela just a little distance from Lorca,Murcia. but a large drive from Barcelona.

There are two semi local Land Rover dealers here one in Lorca and the other in Murcia.
I would have thought that there is one in Barcelona.?

Have you looked throught the local papers?

I know of one Discovery near to where I live in a local garage that is for sale why not try them,
tele no 968485526. Benito Lopez the name to contact speaks Spanish but has an english mechanic.

Any way hasta luego amigo and good luck.

Old Land Rovers do not die they just grow old with dignity.

Hi,

My name is Chris,
I´m Danish, lived in UK for two month until 4th of July 2011 and are now moved to Barcelona, Spain.
I bought a Range Rover Classic 3.9 in UK and will import it to Spain in the near future.
Are there any other Land Rover "geeks" nearby Barcelona?
Maybe we could meet some day?
Any ideas regarding off road driving in the area?

Cheers
Chris
