Hi All,

1999 2.0 ltr no history of problems, oil and filter changed 200+ miles
ago moved to semi synthetic from mineral.

Normal trip driving changing up the box --as the next gear was taken up noticed there was a difference in power, definate lacking. Carried on with trepidation to find there was poor progression throughout the gears, no sit up and go more like non turbo.

The way the symptoms appeared quite sudden, no noises or other features or symptoms at this point or during the rest of the journey.

Parked her up and came back few hours later so she was cold. She spun over rapidly but struggled to fire up--when she did it was very rou.gh with blue smoke and strong smell of deisel.

This morning strating up was the same - struggle, rough then clears after chucking out some blue from the exhasut. I took of the intake to the turbo at the airr filter--increased to 2000rpm, the turbo normal noise came in and the intake air flow seemed to correspond to the increase in engine speed.

The sudden appearance of the symptoms have me baffled. Has anyone
had such a sudden change and been able to identify the cause?

Appreciate any help as this is my main wheels--should I use her like this--my worry is if she has jumped a cambelt tooth--it the only thing I can think that would change these engine characteristics so instantly
