Can I unscrew air pressure switch to wrap it with water tape. Manual say no! Why? Compressor pressure is not more than 7,5bar,going to repair. Thanks.
 
Does it say in the manual DO NOT seal with PTFE. Or does it say DO NOT remove switch unless tank has been drained of air?

Agreed, manual probably states "not not remove unless air tank is drained".

But why ask a question for advice, then not wait for an answer before stating your going to to it anyway, pointless post......:confused:
 
I might be wrong , but doesnt the compressor work between 7.5 and 12 bar?

Not that it makes that much difference, but i had a feeling the compressors would regularly kick out 9bar :)

Yet Microcat shows that the switch is available separately (part number RQH000130) for around £50 (e.g. http://www.brit-car.co.uk/product.php?xProd=136074) whereas the complete tank assembly (RQN500020) is nearer £550 – which presumably is why the OP is asking why can’t the switch simply be replaced.

The switch allows a pressure of 11.8 bar (171psi) to be maintained in the tank
 
Bloody ridiculous. First of all £50.0 for a £5.00 pressure switch, then don't replace it. The world has gones completey bonkers. Evacuate the tank unscrew sensor and seal it, job done.

Makes you wonder sometimes who companies are employing these days as technical writers. Probably some bod straight from Uni who knows sod all and has never had a pressure switch or air tank in his hands. Most likely health and safety related crap.
