key fob not locking unlocking

hi had the battary off my diesel p38 for about a month as i was on holiday save it going flad and being fooked.
reconected it to day and everything works ok car starts and runs ok.
but key fob dose not lock or unlock the car the red light lights up on remote looked in the hand book and it says just put fob in egnition to resinc don this to no avail.
am i missing some thing guys
the key fobs worked ok betor bisconecting main bat
any help would be appreciated.

hi m8 just tride on both keys but no luck

go and try again, may take a few attempts, press n hold lock on the fob put key in lock and unlock and take key out , just outta interest the red light comes on when pressing fob right?
