Any ideas why I would keep having to replace the brake bulb on myo FL TD4 facelift but the near side only?
No problem with the brake lights on the off side though.

I've recently had this with my 2000 L series, exactly the same problem. Bulb blew and I found it on the MOT pre-check so replaced it. A couple of weeks later it blew again. Replaced again. Okay at the moment, I think....

Suspect an intermittent connection that causes the bulb to flicker. This will increase the therma stress, the killer of all filament lamps.

Also had problems with the number plate lamp being intermittent. Wouldn't light when switched on but a quick 'thump' fixed it, until next time. This was due to the rivetted terminals not making a good connection to the PCB that the lamp is mounted on. Some work with a soldering iron soon sorted that one.

had this twice, with 2 different faults

1. had condensation in one of the rear brake lights shorting them out and blowing fuses/bulbs

2. faulty brake pedal switch doing the same

both cheap fixes, i.e under a tenner HTH

Don't think its condensation, everything looks dry. How did you establish it was the brake pedal switch?

The internmittent fault causing flicker seems a possible culprit. Will have to start looking at all the connections once the weather starts to warm up. Its just too cold at the moment to be outside messing about with cars.
