Veeeeeeeeeeeery long shot here.

I'm trying to track down what happened to my old 1949 Series 1 'JVS 688'.

I sold it 20 or so years ago as a project that as a teenager going to uni I no longer had time for. It was largely original although a PO had made it into a lookalike trial truck in as much as a roll cage was fitted, along with volvo front seats 4pt harnesses and a rear in tub fuel tank.

Looking on the DVLA it's now a 2.5 Diesel (probably a Tdi i'd guess) and is SORN, with a log book last requested in 2017.

Just wondering if anyone knows of it, has seen it, knows someone who might have seen it or could point me towards it.

Both my late brother and I learned to drive in it, years ago, and it's a bit of a life aim to track it down and try and buy it back.

It'd be unbelievably emotional to have it in the family again.

Any help hugely appreciated!

Ok, thanks Shimster. Noted for next time!

Great picture of Laxey Wheel too. My grandparents used to have a holiday home on Scarlet Road, Casteltown. Many happy days spent overlooking Langness Lighthouse, watching shipping in the distance over Castletown bay and generally exploring the Island.

looks promising that it is still around from the 2017 bit, hope you manage to track it down then comes the hard bit of trying to persuade the owner to part with an early series,
good luck with your quest:)
