Hi all - anyone have any suggestions to whether this sounds like (a)
clutch needs bleeding (b) clutch plate worn (c) oil on clutch plate.
Series 3 TD5 - sometimes as you let your foot off the clutch, it jumps
as if you have dropped your foot off for the last part of the release.
Will even do it going through the gears... not just taking off from
stop.

It doesn't do it all the time.... and some time ago, the clutch went
through a phase where it seemed to have too much travel..... but then
would come good... almost as if the fluid was leaking past the seal in
the slave cylinder.

Has anyone else experienced anything similar?

FYI - it has only done about 105,000km.... and has had a relatively
easy life.

It's very difficult to say for sure, dut it does sound like your
slave cylinder is not a happy bunny. Try giving it a good bleed
and see what the fluid looks like. If it's black it could just
need a flush through; if it has black "slime" in it the one
or more seals are likely to be unwell; if it has "silver"
in the slime/sludge then it's probably best to replace it.
