Hi guys a very random one, I’m not selling the Landy but I seem to have inherited a 2002 jeep Cherokee 2.7 crd on a 2002 plate, 1 owner from new and garaged with 110k miles.. fired right up from cold when I went to see it and it looks in excellent condition inside and out, feel like a traitor mentioning the word Jeep on this site but I don’t know who else to ask really as don’t see many of these driving about, question is if I’m going to get given this car i wanna give it a once over to make sure it’s running as sweet as possible anyone know what to look out for? The engine sounds very much like the td5 which was nice to hear

Mercedes engine, the injectors can give trouble by that i mean they can leak and generally the fuel system in its entirety can give problems buuuuuut that being said they tend to be pretty good if maintained, if it fired up first go without fault then it's probably alright.

issue no2 Parts are not cheap.

To be honest they're a good car. :vb-angel1:

Thanks Henry b, I guess it’s a fingers crossed moment, probably just renew the oil and filters and see how it goes

Check around injectors, known weak spot, look for coked up area’s. Injector 5 is a nightmare to remove, either engine out or drilling through bulkhead.

Thanks Johnlad, oh dear ok I will check that then, is drilling the bulkhead out fairly simple If that’s an issue?

As good as it looks the old boy who has giving it to me took it in for an mot and the mechanic at his garage said it needs about 500 quid worth of work to get it through the mot, so question is do I spend 500 quid on it or scrap it

What's it worth when done. If you're getting it for nowt, then do the bushes (will be cheaper if you can do them) and keep or sell it
Got any pics of it
