Is there any one here gone the Jap import Disco route? ....are they worth the extra cash, considering you get low miles and no rust!!

So far I've only seen 300Tdi's, can you get the Td5? What about spare parts are they the same as the UK models.

Your coments please...

Never bought an imported car myself but its worth a look as Jap cars are generally in better condition due to the lower speed limits in Japan.

i tink youl find its more to do with the fact that its generally a warmer climate over there , with much less rain and that they dont salt the roads.

Hi, yes I bought a jap import nearly 7yrs ago and have just sold it, in that time it was very good. Just the usual problems, water ingress, bit of rust but as you say they are fine vehicles, although they are nearly all autos which I found a bit gutless. Some insurers were sceptical but in the end there was not a problem, I have seen the 300s for sale in Land Rover mags and they are asking a lot of money for them, that is why I have now bought a 2002 Discovery Td5 and it is very nice indeed, but if you fancy one make sure you get a warranty. I loved my Tdi but when you drive the Td5 there is no comparison, in my opinion of course, best bet is to try them both and then decide.:)
