well its raining buckets up in north Yorkshire this weekend. After spending all ma money on a new gearbox/clutch and servicing kit I've been truly soaked wea leaks.

Firstly ma sunroof doesn't leak (well as far as I can see) but it isn't sitting flush at the rear end once its closed and the tightening mechanism is fully screwed in. I fear if I go to far I'll crack the bloody thing wea ma mong strength. Any body got any top tips?

An ma good old drivers door is soaking me to death from the top corner when I pull off, never really noticed it the fore but maybe the fact that ma gear box is quiet I've something else to frown over!

I'm on ma mobile an it aint letting me search properly so any pointers on sunroof would be greatfull....till then I'll wear waterproofs in the beast!

Vinnie, I silicone my sun roof up over winter. Have you tried leaving the lining off for a while? One of the seems may be letting water in.

Does the driver's door shut properly on the seal? You may need to add a spacer under the bottom hinge or move the striker in further.

My door seals fine and has had new striker fitted in the summer. The door seal seems fine but I have ordered a new one to be sure. No dramas with the passenger door seal. not sure if water is running back on itself an in but I got a right soaking the night.

As for the sunroof I don't allways find water when it rains it was just by chance i was checking it I noticed its curved. hopefully this week i'll get chance to strip out all my roof liner and further investigate. is the sunroof adjustable do you?

Cheers for the pointers bluehaze.....I,m sure the seal is full of moss an all!

if anyone knows anything about leak proofing, its me :D I've spent hours and hours doing them. and touch wood so far its watertight! I started by putting silicone all the way around the roof, and on the seams on the top of the roof. Doors I put new seals on but didn't solve the problem. Did everything in the Land Rover Water Ingress manual (google it its worth a read). Found a leaking plugged hole in the passenger foot well. Got a new bung and sealed it in. Water was coming in behind the dash, had windscreen and vent seals replaced, soon solved that problem. Some water still coming in on passenger side. but silicone all around windscreen hinge. Back sliding windows leaked. Don't use them so sealed them up. After that every groove and hole that wasn't for drainage I filled it with silicone. :D

Do a smoke test to see where your leaks are;)

the old beast aint that bad, its just the rain here aint stopped in days and I,m noticing it more. The drivers door seal is a definite entry point, but my headliner is dry round the sunroof but as I say its curved and not sitting flush. I have had a good read of the ingress manual and have found dum dum all over ma beast. But could do wea replacing some of it. Did you find yur windscreen hinge/bracket leaked then?....getting the impression I may have a small leak/corrison starting there

My headlining was also dry, but i found that there was water coming into the gutter on the inside of the vehicle. Solved this by sealing all the seams around and ontop of the roof.

Apart from the sunroof not leaking, the rest is all normal. :pound:
