Hi,

I hope to get a diesel Land Rover in the near future, either a Disco or a gaylander as you guys like to call it. (not quite sure what you lot have been getting upto!) Anyway, fuel is obvious concern of mine. I've been reading a lot about using vegetable oil. I have also read up about some kits which make it more practical.

I want to do it cheap though, I don't wanna fork out extra money on kits. Is it ok to just run a diesel engine on vegetable fuel alone? If not, is using a mix between diesel and vegetable oil a viable alternative? (To avoid having to do any modifications to the car)

Also, what is the law on duty? I heard that duty has to be paid in the UK. However, some guy said that since July 2007, people are allowed to use up to 2500 litre's without having to pay any duty, is this true?

Thanks in advance!

- Rich
