Is the Freelander TD4 automatic gearbox the same as the Freelander II?

I'm new to posting here and this may be a stupid question for my first one - but if you don't ask the stupid questions you never learn eh!

What I am trying to find out is if the Freelander TD4 automatic gearbox (mine is a 2000 model) is the same as the Freelander II TD4 automatic gearbox.

The reviews on the net say it has a six speed automatic gearbox. The FL 1 is only a five speed auto.

There is nothing in common between the Freelander 1 & 2

The FL1 Td4 has the Jatco autobox in combination with the BMW M47 engine (same "Steptronic" as BMW's use) where the FL2 is equipped with Ford gear. (Engine in cooperation with Peugeot I think ?)

Thanks for the replies everybody - sorry for the delay in responding but I've been away.

The reason for the question was that I needed a new gearbox and found the Freelander II one at a very good price so wondered if I could use it.

Now I've actually resorted to fixing the old one but could really do with a parts diagram for it, does anybody know where I could find one?
