imobiliser RRC

HI have/had a problem wiht my 1996 classic, it started when i tried to unlock it using the fob and it wouldnt work...and of course I was on the way back from the south of france! I eventually found a blown fuse for the central locking replaced it..blow again when unlocked doors, took a change and put a 20A in instead of a 15A and hey presto it unlocked the doors turned the imobiliser off then blew. so we made it home not locking the car again. stripped out the carpets traced all the wiring for the locks but cant find any faulty wiring/shortening out. And now it works again well it did for a while. Now the fobs have stoped working, car will still lock and alarm from the key. Any body else had this problem? how difficult is it to take imbolise out of system so it doesnt happen this year in spain!!
