Im back in the uk and just unSORNed the P38 diesel after a year of being laid up in a shed.I had someone check on it every month and start it up and run it for 15 min and had no trouble starting untill the last two months when the battery died so got a new Alphina 1000cca and 130 AH battery from the battery megastore and started first time, reset the windows and sunroof and the key fob actually worked as well, I instructed my friend to dissconnect the battery every time and also not to lock it as i could see problems with the EKA code if they had never experience the problem before.
I am now based around the Arundel Chichester Littlehampton area and have just purchased a nanacom for the P38 diesel and anyone that would like their codes read please send me a private message as I would like to get some practical experience with it before I tacke off on a big overland trip.
I will be replacing the airbags before the trip also i need some new tyres and i will be getting some Michelin Lattitude cross fitted as the I had some bad experiences with the Pirrelli STR that i got last time.
The MOT runs out soon but has only done a couple of hundred miles since last one so should be ok.
Before i laid it up gave it a complete service changed all oils except gearbox which i will do soon and also all the filters including pollen filters and pond filter on the scuttle. replaced center muffler and renew all brake pads and did the heater Matrix O rings,The aircon needs regasing so will probably have to replace the condenser radiator and a few other little jobs, will have all spare hoses and also an in tank fuel pump and front and rear disc pads spare, will replace leak off hoses.
Its good to be back with the Range Rover as i have been driving an old (1975) F250 styleside in OZ and i miss the comfort and offroad abilityof the rangie,
