Idler pulley

Hi,

I'm buying some parts for changing a idler pulley and serpentine belt. Just checking, what's the difference (if there is one) between these 2 pulleys ERR6658 & ERR6493? The pulley I need to change is the top one on the right as you look at the engine.

Secondly, does anybody no the part number for the fastenings that hold on the fan cowl? They are little springthings that have a screw in.

Just googled them and it seems one is for car with ACE but no A/C and other if for car with A/C but no ACE, I would say measure the O/D of yours and see how that relates to the two part numbers?

Might be worth mentioning what you have in your post, rather than us having to trawl through your profile, I assume you are talking TD5, if that is the case then I don't know as I'm a TDIer

Yeah sorry, I meant to say its a TD5 90. Can't believe I missed that out.

I got the part numbers from lrcat. This is the no ac version.

I wonder if its some sort of superseded part number, I notice one shows a washer and bolt and the other just shows the bolt with no part number?
Just guessing but maybe also difference between 10 and 15p engine?
Have you got a dealer near to you to ask?
Maybe start a new thread asking td5 owners to measure their pullley dia and compare it to yours?

Got the right part in the end. The washer is a spacer so that settled which one I needed. Still struggling on the retaining clips for the fan cowling though.
