We bought our first family Defender in June 2014 after waiting and searching carefully for the "right one". We have/had plans and for me many of them have been borne from years of waiting for the right time. As a teacher in West Yorkshire I will admit to be doubly excited at the chance to reach school in the snow when winter hits. We have looked at upgrades as cash becomes available, feeding our three boys beans to ensure key jobs could be carried out every now and again. We had started looking excitedly at tufftrek roof tents, snorkels and most importantly seat conversions to make it safe and comfy. That was until the early of hours of Friday 23rd October.
We awoke to the final Friday of half term to find our beloved family Landy gone. Pinched. Stolen. Removed by some emotionally starved individuals who make crime pay for them. It was a lovely example of a 1993 200TDI with great body work, thanks to a sojourn in Malta during its formative early years of life. We had a 'ardcase pedal lock, unbreakable single piece ignition, hidden immobiliser and until recently, a large Great Dane called Bailey. It was due to head off to a lovely mechanic for part 3 of lock upgrades etc the same day.
We have dealt with the upset of three boys, are dealing with the crabbiness and irritation of my good self and the inevitable extra costs due to theft of an entire vehicle. The insurance company are terribly efficient but our white shiny monster has gone and is seemingly, if we believe what we are told, gone for good.
Any ideas, help, suggestions or revenge stories courtesy of Agatha Christie novels, please do get in contact.
Thanks. It was a shame that this was my first post. A fellow Landy friend had suggested posting after he managed to hunt down missing 90s in the past. If nothing else it has proven cathartic. Nearly.

A lot of the forums have stolen boards. Try putting posts in them with pictures as in my head any white landy could be it.

Does it have any distinctive parts or marks??

Sorry to hear of your loss. Luckily for me I had improved my security to such a level the scum bags were defeated a few weeks back.

Unfortunately though I have to be lucky every time, the scum bags only have to be lucky once.

Your point is rather too accurate. Having read other stories, many thieves seem determined and all too capable. I will search for stolen boards and add. Thanks.
