Hello peeps, my two current favourite porn sites are as follows;

http://www.northerntooluk.com/
http://www.ccw-tools.co.uk

What are everyone else's favourite sunday-morning sweat bringers?

Have "spent" about £200 on Northern Tool this morning so far,
thankfully you can save your basket and pick items off on future
visits, after you've done the maths....

Some interesting low profile hydraulic rams on ccw-tools too, 30mm
extending to about 40mm, there's been a few times I could have used
those.

On another level of satisfaction... for the 101 Camper owners amoungst us I
spent a good £19.99 on a small 700watt hand held mains hoover in our local B
& Q super store. Just the right current draw for camp sites. Mrs D is well
impressed and was last seen doing a demo in those hard to reach corners.
It sucks real good too, also good fer in yer cars as it's super dinky and
none of this crappy 12v malarky. I only went in for a new fan for the
downstairs bog. Also puts a rechargeable dirt devil to shame good and
propper.

I'm mainly laminate myself in the rear of the 101. Hoover will be for the
Caravan which is carpeted, I'd laminate that if I thought I could make a
half decent job but I reckon it's best left until we swap it in a few years.

I have carpeted over the engine lid, origionally I also had underlay too,
now that made a real big difference to the noise levels. Unfortunately the
heat has dryed out the underlay now to the point that it's crumbled to bits
so I've binned it now. The carpet however remains pretty good.

I'd probably carpet the 101 rear end were it not for the ickle ones and the
dawg and associated muddy feet/paws at camp sites.

Did you get that eber going? I've found a chap breaking an Ambi who has
donated the Eber control unit to Morph. H'mmm! Toasty again :)

Never -- REPEAT -- Never use a genny to charge the battery whilst running
the Eber, I recon in hindsight thats what did for mine.

Until I can find a new temperture probe, the eber wont run for more
than 2 mins. Running a wire to simulate the probe being happy, the
eber will run.....

I'm sure I can stand it, I'll put them in the loo for those long
steamy bathtub sessions.

Just ordered a wagon and a pair of dollies, no not some kind of kid's
toy fetish, but a pneumatic-wheeled panelled wagon, 650Kg load, for
about 50-60 quid or so, which I thought was pretty good. Also two
500Kg wheel dollies. Having bought a hydraulic car lift recently,
I've now spent as much as I paid for the lift on gear I need to help
me move it around while I put it up!

Also tagged the left-handed drill bits onto the order, that's all I
went there for in the first place, I'd never have found Northern Tool
otherwise. They walk the left-handed path for sure.

What with Austin's exotic frenchies, this lot and the others I've
spotted while drooling around the internet while trying to fix errant
computers, it's increased the pain of my discovery that I've already
blown all but £86 of this month's spending money, and there's a lot of
month left :-(

You having torrid time with computers too? I was just just upgrading SWBO's
capable but slow K6 500, which she uses for embroidery and CAD put all the
gear in
(ti4200 Amd 2200+ etc etc) then found we didn't have any of the custom
drive rails
to put in the dvd burner and the only cooler had a kegly fan got a spare and
its 64bit
which doesnt fit- had a fit of the screaming add-dabs since it has to be
done or rebuilt as was.
Down the pooter shop closed ( I thought they opened sunday turns out its the
other shop in the middle of manchester) so (after some retail therapy in the
sports shop) down to Aria bought a cooler and a natty case just like my own
( Verre) perpex pretty lights - you know the drill. Get it home bung in the
kit - no light package and they gone home( bastards) . So I spent the rest
of the day installing XP then building another machine from the pile of bits
and putting 98 on it EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Now I have enough bits ( and then some) to build another low spec box and
also nervous twitch to go with it make me an offer to protect my sanity
someone?
Derek.

Have you tried a WOM for the carpet (Walk Off Mat) they are brilliant,
rubber laminated with heavy fabric the sort that is used as a dirt barrier
between offices and the outside world the weight should knock down the noise
levels quite a bit.

I think you might be right its been ages since I collected from them, my
pal covers the N Manchester area so I only get over there when he's stuck.
The one I had I rescued from the skip when we moved offices I don't recall
which car I left it in but it did the business

Mostly it's just Windows, despite there only being 2 windows boxes on
my 17-computer network they are the ones that give me all the grief.
I got bored with it so I build a machine running VMWare and moved all
the windows boxes to virtual machines with rewind points so if it all
went wrong, I could just hit "rewind" and it would be back to normal.
Great plan and would have worked had I remembered to hit record in the
first place, and so had nothing to rewind to!

If you have a garage with power, put it in there with all the landy
manuals on it in PDF form, I find it easier to navigate than the paper
manuals, and given that the paper manuals I have cost me something in
the region of £300 total I'd quite like to keep them intact! PDF
reader, once running, is pretty quick even on a P75 with 64 megs of
RAM running W2K.

Too true - I've got an old laptop running in my garage at home with all
the reference material I regularly use on it. And I managed to acquire
a 21" monitor (for £2) to hook to it so I can read it from a distance.

I got a 20" LCD from ebay which rotates through 90 degrees to work in
portrait mode, then with acrobat reader in full-screen mode I can read
it from a fair old distance away. The LCD cost me about £120 a few
years back, I didn't buy it for use in the garage though, I wouldn't
have spend that much on it if I knew where it was going to end up!

Add to that an old, infra-red keyboard and joystick mouse combined,
and you've got the makings of a nice little setup that allows me to
sit there browsing the web instead of working on the car...
