Is there an 'easy' way to identify if you have this option? I had a badge on the passenger side tweeter but nothing anywhere else. I've replaced the driver side cheater with a HK badged unit ( the original didn't have a tweeter!) however I notice this replacement unit, while having a badge on the grille, doesn't have the printed board inside saying LR/HK like the passenger side does.

It got me thinking, is there a way to identify if the car originally had the proper HK system?

I have HK in the Saab but it's easily identifiable due to the badges, the amplifier and the system I have only came with HK components. Haven't been able to find such an easy method with LR so far though!

The Hi sound system has a dsp amp in the left hand boot area behind the double subwoofer. To see if you have a dsp amp you could look at the drivers handbook it should show you how to select bass, treble, balance, subwoofer etc etc and dsp - spacial or driver. If no dsp then its not the hi spec.
