Can anyone tell me what fuse is for the fan
Hi we have a old Range Rover S reg diesel automatic would like to know what fuse is for the fan

Doesn't the diesel have a viscous fan, same as proper engines do?
To be more helpful, your fan doesnt have a fuse cos it isn't electric. If its overheating (assuming gauge and fan is working properly) you have a problem with something else like water pump or thermostat or maybe something more expensive like blocked radiator or cracked haed

Good question would be, how do you know it's overheating?

Temp gauge goes right up put in 8 litres of water today

Viscous fan should roar on startup and then quieten down after 30 seconds or so depending on temperature. After it quietens down you should be able to stop it with a rolled up newspaper. When it gets hot it should start to roar again as it locks up and it will shred your newspaper.
Coolant leak. Check drivers side carpet by transmission tunnel for dampness. If so check heater o-rings in pipes where they go through bulkhead. Check all rad hoses. Check the radiator itself. Check little pipe from rad to expansion tank is free and cap is screwed down properly on expansion tank. In rare instances the head is cracked.

He may have an electric fan conversion
Can be common for pipe at back of head to rot out. The u shape coolant one.

Indeed he may,but it would be non standard so how are we, even with the help of @wammers crystal ball to know? All he can do is follow the wiring back from the fan and see if there is one fitted in line at the power source.

We need to know whats fitted to the engine be it viscous or electric and is it boiling over or just got a leak, then we can advise the best coarse of action.
