I have joined this forum in the hope of learning something about Land Rover Defender 90s before I take the plunge and buy one!!
I am a young(ish) single white female and so this sounds much more straight forward than it actually is. I love defenders but unfortunately I have nada experience of them. Its going to have to be an older one and so I am very apprehensive about being sold a dinger.
My dad who I normally ask about this stuff is just not a Landy kinda guy and thinks Im bonkers. My mother, on the other hand, is a wee bit more understanding as she knows my plans and hence why I want one but also knows nada about Landys or cars in general!
So..... my problem is - right now; I have no idea what a waxoyle is, or how to check if it is as it should be, how to appraise a chassis and all the important bits when viewing and where to find a defender 90 for a good price!!
My next hurdle is maintenance I would really like a crash course on under the bonnet and the important bits so I can assess for myself if someone is telling me porkies about the work they have done or that has to be done - any suggestions?
I hope to gleam some of this important information from you guys and thank you in advance
