Hi to everyone...and could someone please help?
We have just got an old Defender 90 which we are hoping will be the family 'toy' and stop my husband pandering for all things Landrover. Although it is slowly becoming road worthy (which I must say he (the hubbie) is doing a good job)- he is more interested in looking for winches and off road playthings than practical issues like how to seat our two children safely!!

I want to remove the rear bench seats and install 2 seats for the little ones, but can only find seats from Exmoor Trim which state that they are suitable for child seats and boosters. As these are over £400 each I was hoping that someone could offer some advice. Obviously the safety of our kids is paramount- but does anyone know how that safety could be a little cheaper!?

Welcome. Those are the only ones that are approved for use with booster seats etc.

What age are your kids? I'm fitting a forward facing fold up & seatbelt (about £180 from exmoor) for my girlie & me little 'un can then ride up front with me.

Have you windows in the back? Would'nt be too bad if you did. The love o' my life is not exactly enamoured by the prospect of riding in the back with the dogs, but as you say safety first!

There is apparently a kiddy seat that fits safely with a lap belt so could be used in the centre seat up front if you have one?

All depends on how many rugrats you have, their ages & what exactly you intend to use the truck for. Whichever way you do it, there isn't much of a cheap option sadly! Though it's money better spent than wasting it on a bluddy winch! ;)

Thanks for all your replies. The girls are 4yrs (cheeky stage!) and the baby is nearly going in the high back 9mths-3yrs seat. And yes, we do have windows in the back- a good job really as it seems that is where I am going to be stuck!

Wicked, I'm now watchin' them (anyone wanna fight me?!?) S'bleedin' miles away, but I've gorra mate in Northampton. Nice one Yella, every bluddy day I bin checkin fleabay fer forward facers!
