Hi chaps / chapesses,
We're talking about a '95 DT. HEVAC unit to be precise.
SYMPTOMS: every so often the blowers start pumping in red hot air and continue to do so. At the moment that means driving "windows doawn".
FAULTS: book symbol comes up. I've noticed it tends to do it after going over a bump so I think we're looking at a loose or bad connection somewhere, possibly a short from a rubbing cable. Unfortunately it keeps curing itself. So, half the time I go running in to get the Nanocom and by the time I've gone in and back out it has fixed itself. Fortunately, the other half of the time I get a fault code. After clearing (cycling ignition) and seeing them again, the 2 codes I'm seeing (never together) are:
(3) The Right Hand blend motor short (Fault type = current)
and (the more common one recently)
(32) Compressor clutch control circu (fault type = current).
Does this ring a bell with someone and it is a common problem? Or what would link the 2?
Just cleared the faults and then tried forcing every combination the Nanocom could throw at it. Everything working perfectly again (no need to calibrate as it was pretty much spot on) and damn book symbol and faults are mysteriously absent again. Guess I'll have to wait for it to recur unless anyone on here has some inspiration for me?
Cheers,
J
