on holiday in Dorset from Norfolk, towed caravan here. D4 won’t start, local garage replaced starter motor - still won’t start. Any specialist landrover help in area between Dorchester and Bridport? Currently stuck in farmers field with no help to get home. Extremely stressed! Any help would be appreciated .

Try not to stress it will affect your desicion making

Have you got access to a multimeter?

You need to start with the battery, check voltage with no ignition, also need to check voltage drop when cranking. It can have enough volts but no amps when cranking.

Can local garage come out to you? Do you have breakdown cover? I can recommend RAC Arrival, they recover you and your caravan.

Please try not to worry too much it won't help. Its one of those things that happen, worse things have happened at sea old pal

Get in the van and put the kettle on

I have to say it sounds a bit random, changing the starter motor as a first choice on a non starter ?
Dependant on whether it cranking healthily or not. Check battery volts and connections.
If module has got damp could be an immobiliser issue.
Good luck

'Nothing, starter motor changed and still nothing. Power is ok just not starting -
Is the starter motor turning the engine? If it is not turning the engine is there a clicking noise when you turn the key (starter solenoid) working ? Did you return to the car and it would not start?
people will need as much information as you can give them to be able to help
