Im looking to buy my first disco 1 to use as a on/off roader as im new too all this im after your help/tips please on the do's and dont's about the land rover discovery one.

Dont buy one that is rusty! Apart from that, get a good set of tyres and your good to go. When buying, check;

boot floor
sills
rear door wheel arch
chassis
any staining on the roof lining indercating that the sun roof leaks.

My tip is don't eat yellow snow








But for a disco 1 then
All of the above don't be shy about Geting dirty and looking under it
Never look at one at night.
If they don't let you pull up the rear carpet then don't buy it. Sills are another to lookout
for.
With the engine then look at the all fluids. It should start easy enough if not then there may be problems. If it is auto then on the test drive it should change smoothly and not
feel jumpy.

Yea watch out where them huskys go.....but nothing much more to add from the tips above....mine was a bit of work when I bought it but I only paid £450 for a '97...head and block got skimmed for £250..all the bits...£350...and some time ......respray is next...
