Hi Guys
My beloved Freelander TD4 has just brocken down:( for the first time, the car was 3 years old in December 04 33000 mls,a great car thats why we did not buy a new one in December.
My wife was driving it had complete power lose ie no response from the accelerator but idles fine, managed to get it to my local dealer and first thoughts were its the poteniometer thats fault,is he talking out a hole in his bum or could it be something simple?
Is this expensive if it is the poteniometer?

Thanks for your help

Scott

sounds like it could be just that, you could change it yourself its only the go pedal easy unplug,td4 will default to tickover as a limp home mode if the potetiometer goes wrong, not a common fault though

I had this the other day, was the MAF disconnecting it and it runs a lot better with it disconnected! Must get a new one though as the fuel consumption is suffering!
