HELP!!!! my landy is stranded with the hand brake on and it wont go off!

hi guys
i've got a 200 tdi 90 and last night i put the hand brake on in town and when i came to take it off, even with the lever fully down the brake is still on. if i try to pull away it just stops after about 6 inches. the "lurch" is like when you park on a hill with the hand brake on then take your foot off the foot brake!

any ideas what it is before i call the RAC to help?

give the handbrake drum a few sharp taps with a hammer.
then don't use the handbrake again till you've stripped and sorted it. it's probably full of ****e.

Aye get under there and tw&t it a few times. Landy handbrakes ain't exactly high tech.

reverse if possible, sounds like rear output oil seal and contaminated shoes-or as others have said stuck and hammer required
